Common Mistakes

What NOT to do (save yourself hours)

Common Mistakes

These are the traps that waste everyone's time. Avoid them.

Mistake 1: Treating M like Google

M is not a search engine. Don't ask "What is X?" Ask "Create X for me."

*Wrong:* "What are the best practices for cold email?"

*Right:* "Write me 5 cold emails for [target] that follow best practices."

Mistake 2: Asking for Drafts

If you ask for a draft, you'll get a draft. Ask for finished work.

*Wrong:* "Can you draft a proposal outline?"

*Right:* "Create a complete proposal ready to send to [client]."

Mistake 3: Vague Context

"Write something about marketing" → garbage.

"Write a LinkedIn post for B2B SaaS founders about cold email" → gold.

The difference is specificity. M can't read your mind.

Mistake 4: Emotional Iteration

"Make it better" means nothing.

"Make the headline punchier and cut the introduction by half" means everything.

Be surgical. Point to the exact problem.

Mistake 5: Not Defining Done

If you don't tell M what success looks like, M has to guess. M's guess might not match yours.

Always include: "This should be [quality bar] enough to [use case]."

Example: "This should be polished enough to send to our board."
